That, is a puddle of oil sitting under my bike. Well we spent all day yesterday wishing we had planned an extra day in NOLA, we got it. No mechanics on Sunday…..will take it to the shop tomorrow.

So we made the most of our time….walked all, around the tourist areas in the French Quarter.

Remaking our own beds…..having just discovered the oil pudding, we had to recheck into our room…..it had already been stripped.

After we had a plan to fix the bike in place, we headed over to the Garden District. It’s about 3 miles from the Quarter. According to Dorothy’s tour book, when the French were running New Orleans, more and more Americans began moving into Louisiana and the Quarter. They created strong business competition and the Creoles eventually kicked the Americans out. So they moved south on the river to a place now known as the Garden District. They built opulent houses in architectural styles they were use to and where completely different from what the Creoles built in the overcrowded French Quarter. Here are a few of the houses….

So we’ll see what tomorrow brings….I spoke to the people at the haunted plantation and they were happy to change the reservations to tomorrow night. They said the ghosts would still be there!
