High Meadow

September 26, 2013

Slept like a rock….actually slept late this morning so of course I missed the 6 elk they saw in the lower meadow today. But I needed it. Yesterday wore me out!

Plan for the day was a ride to high meadow…you’ve seen it in some of the pictures it’s the open meadow up and to the left. It’s only about 5 or 6 miles away but since horses walk about 3 miles per hour it takes a good part of the day to get there and back. We set out about 10:00 and enjoyed a scenic ride through the woods. There’s just a little hint of color change.

Phyllis…aka, Bosslady

Part way up the ride, we stopped a scenic overlook.

After the stop over, we headed up to the high meadow.

Always wanted to run through a high grass meadow like an idiot.

A little lunch and a rest

So we were all having a great time, even got the BossLady into some fun with the Hawley Mountain cheer squad! Lol

We were having a great time running around but that’s when the trouble started. We were taking pictures of the lodge and wondering if they could see us from down there.

Phyllis made the mistake of mentioning about a ranch wrangler who always threatens to moon the lodge. In a split second, we were lined up, call to the lodge via radio to draw the attention of the lunch crowd and down went to pants, lol! Phyllis said she can’t take us anywhere!
